THE JOB

Fast hands.
Clean work.

01

Read the shingle.

Find the narrow fastening band. Stay in from the edges, space your nails, and aim low within the valid zone.

02

Tap to nail.

Place the contact foot, then drive the nail. Seat raised heads, avoid overdrive, and keep your rhythm.

03

Work the course.

Finish the row before moving up. Six staggered courses. Four nails on full pieces, two on short edge pieces.

FIELD NOTES / PRECISION WORK

Make it hold.

Tap where you want the nail. Work left to right. Swipe to trim.

  1. Read the fastening band. Lower-third common-bond placement is PERFECT. Other nails inside the band are GOOD. Nails above or below it show HIGH or LOW.
  2. Spread the nails. Keep heads clear of the edges and distribute them across the width. Four nails on full pieces, two on short pieces. A nail too close to an existing valid nail shows SPACING.
  3. Quality earns the score. Placement earns up to600 points per piece, spacing250, and installation150. A visible placement fault costs40. Every nail seats normally; speed never changes its quality.
  4. Finish at the rake. Swipe up or down to cut the right edge, then step up and return left. Six staggered starters:36″,30″,24″,18″,12″,6″.

A precision game with simplified fastening rules. Real roof installation follows the shingle manufacturer’s instructions and applicable code.
